Big names in the Philadelphia-area business community contributed to both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump before the Election, writes Jeff Blumenthal for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Federal Election Commission filings show that 10 individual campaign donors contributed $100,000 or more to the Harris Victory Fund, compared to two for the Trump 47 Committee.
Former Merck CEO and Newtown resident Kenneth Frazier and Jill McDonnell of Pipersville gave the Harris Fund $500,000 each.
Power Home Remodeling CEO Asher Raphael contributed $250,000; James Berwind, Joanne Berwind Brummett and Joanna Creamer of the Berwind Group of Companies ($200,000 each); Richard G. Campbell of Meadowbrook and former Pennsylvania Sen. Connie Williams ($150,000 each); and Gold Oller Real Estate Investments Chair Richard Oller and Audacy founder Joseph Field ($100,000 each).
John Giordano was the biggest Trump donor in the second half of the year ($116,000).
He was recently named interim U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey and on Monday, Trump announced Giordano will be nominated as U.S. ambassador to Nambia.
Giordano was deputy general counsel for Trump’s 2016 transition team.
Doylestown’s George Ball, chairman of W. Atlee Burpee Co., donated $100,000 to support Trump.
Seven other donors each contributed under $100,000.
