In the wake of the Philadelphia Eagles being crowned Super Bowl champions for the second time in the last seven years, Firstrust Bank recently celebrated the 450-plus businesses that participated in its Brotherly Shove Business Spotlight with a gathering at the Firstrust Bank Club and a tour of the Eagles stadium.

The Brotherly Shove Business Spotlight was created by Firstrust Bank, the Official Bank of the Philadelphia Eagles, to support the growth and brand awareness of local businesses. The contest was open to any privately owned, for-profit businesses in Greater Philadelphia with annual revenue between $1 million and $50 million.

The deadline to submit nominations was Oct. 15, and a month later, Morton-based Oliver Heating & Cooling was announced from almost 500 entries as the winner.

“It was an exciting day when I got that call from Tim Abell, CEO of Firstrust Bank, to let me know that our company had won,” said David Oliver, the company’s second-generation owner.

As the winner, Oliver was awarded up to $40,000 in promotional assets, including a pregame mention on the Eagles Video Board, a digital billboard ad, paid social media content, radio spots, and two tickets for three games in Firstrust Bank’s Touchdown Terrace. In addition to the promotional package, the Eagles donated $5,000 to Oliver’s “Heat for the Holidays” program.

Five other companies were selected as finalists:

  • Greencastle Consulting
  • FCArchitects
  • Dlivrd, LLC
  • KMC Partners, LLC
  • Country Pet Lodge

And five more companies were awarded honorable mention:

  • MFR Consultants
  • Delaware Valley Concrete
  • DoubleStar, Inc.
  • Old Capitol Custom Millwork Inc.
  • Paddy’s Roofing

“Your contributions to our community make Philadelphia a better place to live, to work, to do business,” Matt Hein, Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer at Firstrust Bank, said to the businesses that entered the Brotherly Shove Business Spotlight. “At Firstrust, we know that local businesses are the backbone of our community. You are the innovators, the risk-takers, and the job creators who keep Philadelphia thriving. That’s why we are committed to supporting you — not just today, but every step of the way.”

In his opening remarks, Eagles Insider Dave Spadaro drew parallels between what enabled the Eagles to hoist the Lombardi Trophy this season and what it takes to run a successful business.

“The Philadelphia Eagles of 2024 connected, competed, performed with a very high I.Q., were accountable for every single one of their actions and their words, and they practiced the fundamentals and got better every single day,” he said. “Just like you must do in business.”

Spadaro led a discussion with entrepreneurs and former Eagles receivers Mike Quick and Jason Avant about the parallels between the football and business worlds.

“Make sure you stack the good days, and if you continue to do that, you’ll get the results that you want,” said Quick, a color commentator on the Eagles radio broadcasts. “If you get everybody in your boat rowing in the same direction, working the same way, and realizing that we’re all in this thing together — and we’re in this because of the greater good — then you can get the prize.”
