Retirees can enjoy Downtown West Chester, with fun shops to explore and a restaurant for every craving.
Kennett Square is dubbed the “Mushroom Capital of the World.” Mushroom farming is a large source of the town’s economy and workforce, producing over 1 million pounds of mushroom every day. Retired history buffs will enjoy the town’s ample history.
The lively downtown is on the National Register of Historic Places, with lamppost signs boasting this fact. The main street features interesting boutiques, coffee shops, and farm-to-table restaurants. Town spirit is big here, with Kennett Winterfest and Mushroom Festival being popular draws.
