West Chester Boutique Owner Shares Her Personal Style Story

West Chester-based Promise Dress Boutique owner Rachel Peters names sparkles and joy as core elements to her style.

West Chester business owner Rachel Peters has a long history to finding her personal style, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for Main Line Today.

Peters owns Promise Dress Boutique in West Chester, a business she purchased after frequenting the shop as a customer.

When asked about her must-have fashion items, Peters says her rose gold Birkenstocks and high-waisted jean shorts are her go-to.

Peters names Scarlett O’Hara from Gone with the Wind as her personal style icon, and as for contemporary celebrities, she names blogger Stassi Schroeder as a favorite.

As for local businesses, Peters says Pink Turtle in Glen Mills and Latrice in Bryn Mawr are two of her favorite local boutiques.

Sharing the story of her all-time favorite fashion purchase, Peters says she purchased a pair of Italian over-the-knee boots for $1,000 from Latrice, and they quickly became a versatile closet staple.

Reflecting on her love for sparkles and glitter—which goes all the way back to the sparkly Wizard of Oz heels she wore in kindergarten —Peters emphasizes that personal style should bring a person happiness first and foremost, saying, “Once you add a costume, the world seems abundant and happy.”
