The city is a dream destination for history buffs, with numerous historic sites. This includes the Betsy Ross House, Independence Hall, and the National Constitution Center. All of them offer reasonably priced admission or even free rates.
Philly is also known for its increasingly vast culinary scene. The city is filled with several affordable, James Beard Award-winning food spots, such as El Chingon in South Philadelphia, Isgro Pastries in Bella Vista, and Bolo in Rittenhouse Square.
The arts and culture scene is also strong in Philadelphia, with Barnes Foundation and Fabric Workshop and Museum as two of the city’s many art and culture institutions. Both are free to enter.
