Author James Patterson is spreading the holiday cheer this winter as he gifted bonuses to independent booksellers around the nation.

Renowned author James Patterson has gifted holiday bonuses to hundreds of independent booksellers around the country this year and some recipients are in Chester County, writes Raquel Ciampi for WTAE-TV.

Choosing the winners from thousands of entries, nine booksellers in Pennsylvania were selected. They were nominated by their co-workers, customers, and others to add their names for the picking.

“Booksellers save lives. Period,” said Patterson in a statement released through publisher, Little, Brown and Company. “I’m happy to be able to acknowledge them and all their hard work this holiday season.”

Marco Pavlesich from Reads & Company in Phoenixville and Em Hornbeck from Main Point Books in nearby Wayne were selected.

In addition to this gift, Patterson gifted $200 back in October to members of the American Library Association, which promotes libraries and library education. Four members in Chester County received this gift.

Among the hundreds of these members, winners include Theresa Disante from Elk Ridge Elementary in Oxford, Lynn Golden-Mirarchi from Penn’s Grove Middle School Library in Oxford, Suzy Liljestrand from Oxford High School, and David Payne from Avon Grove Library in West Grove.
