Quakertown’s Sabrina Carpenter Nominated for Grammy’s Record of Year
Quakertown native Sabrina Carpenter has been nominated for the Grammy’s Record of the Year and will be up against Taylor Swift and six others for the coveted prize, writes Kristin Hunt for PhillyVoice.
Carpenter was honored for “Espresso”, her huge hit that peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Meanwhile, Swift received a nomination for “Fortnight”, her chart-topper featuring Post Malone.
Other nominees include The Beatles with “Now and Then”, Beyoncé with “Texas Hold ‘Em”, Charli XCX with “360”, Billie Eilish with “Birds of a Feather”, Kendrick Lamar with “Not Like Us”, and Chappell Roan with “Good Luck, Babe!”
Carpenter received several other nominations in major categories, including Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year for “Please Please Please”.
Swift, who is a Berks County native, also received a nomination for the Song of the Year, Best Pop Vocal Album, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for Us, the Gracie Abrams song featuring Swift.
The Grammy Awards will air on Feb. 2 on CBS.
