Malvern’s Charles Ling, who quickly became a fan favorite on the popular dating show The Golden Bachelorette, returned to ABC last week for the Men Tell All reunion, writes Franki Rudnesky for the PhillyVoice. 

None of the other participants in the episode who were once vying for the heart of bachelorette Joan Vassos were as well received by the studio audience as Ling. The former contestant sported a new hairdo and was happy to express his gratitude for the experience and to his supporters. 

He recalled his time as part of the show until he was sent home in an episode that aired in October, and noted that while things did not work out between him and Vassos, he found a “different form of love” with so many of his new friends from the show. 

He also expressed gratitude to his daughter, Sophia, who had encouraged him to audition for the show in hopes of finding love again after his wife died suddenly. 

“After the show, you can tell he just exudes this newfound confidence,” said Sophia, who was in the audience.
