Five Chester County Schools Among Top Public High Schools in Region

Great Valley High School is one of the top public high schools in the county.

Five Chester County schools ranked among the top public high schools in the Philadelphia region for 2024, writes Hillary O’Connor for Philadelphia Magazine

Downingtown STEM Academy is the only school that made the top ten, coming in third place. With an enrollment of 962 students, the school boasts a 100 percent graduation rate and a 99 percent rate of students who go on to college. The teacher-to-student ratio is 14:1, with teachers averaging 12 years of experience. 

Unionville High School is next at No. 11. The school’s graduation rate is 98 percent, with 92 percent of its students moving on to college. 

Conestoga High School follows at No. 12 with a graduation rate of 97 percent and the same percentage of students moving on to college. 

Renaissance Academy Charter School is placed at No. 13. The school has a graduation rate of 100 percent and the percentage of students going to college is 91 percent. 

The list is rounded out by Great Valley High School at No. 18 with a graduation rate of 96 percent and the rate of students going to college at 89 percent.
