Fans Get Preview of A Philly Special Christmas Party Album Recorded in Conshohocken
A Philly Special Christmas Party, the third installment of the Eagles holiday album series recorded in Conshohocken, will be released on November 29, but fans can get a sampling of what it will sound like, writes Dan DeLuca for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Two behind-the-scenes video clips posted earlier this week on Instagram provide a taste of this year’s festive soundtrack.
The first clip features Jordan Mailata, the Australian left tackle, and Devon Gilfillian, a soul singer and Philly Music Fest headliner. The two performed a duet of Sam Cooke’s 1962 hit “Having A Party.”
In addition to the two singers, the clip provides a glimpse of Philly Specials and the studio band, among others.
The second clip offers a glimpse inside the studio as Lane Johnson takes the lead on the team’s version of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, a Gene Autry hit from 1949. In the video, a hoodie-wearing Johnson belts out the vocals while recent retiree Jason Kelce taps his flip-flopped feet. Kelce gives a resounding cheer after Johnson nails the take.
The album will also be introduced with several singles before its official release on November 1. One of these is Christmas Time (in Cleveland Heights), a duet between Kelce and his brother Travis.
