New Parents ‘Beyond Impressed’ by Church Farm School, the Second-Best All-Boys High School in Pennsylvania
“I had a child who was searching for more individualized attention, and he advocated for himself to change schools,” said Malvern resident Tabitha Mabie. “Some were simply out of my budget; some didn’t fit his personality. Some were just too far or not as diverse as we wanted. A friend suggested Church Farm School.”
Mabie knew little about Church Farm School, the private boarding and day school in Exton that was recently ranked the second-best all-boys high school in Pennsylvania by Niche.com.
However, she wanted to look at private school options for her son, Carter Heng, and took him for a visit in the spring. She was impressed by the mandatory athletics, the small classes, the diversity, the affordability, the leadership opportunities, the growing day student program, and the accountability.
“Carter has only been at CFS for a month, but the first lower score he received, he was immediately pulled into a meeting for support,” said Mabie.
Church Farm School emphasizes excellence for all — whatever that may look like for each individual — and ensures that every student has access to peer mentors and a myriad of adult mentors to keep them on track.
Boarding students have student prefects in their cottage, as well as two adult faculty. On the academic side, they have two faculty advisors, a school counselor, a college guidance counselor, an academic support counselor, club advisors, teachers, and peer tutors who help during study halls. Athletically, CFS has 11 different sports to choose from, and two seasons are mandatory. Student-athletes have coaches, captains, co-captains, and managers — all rooting for their success. CFS prides itself on ensuring no one falls through the cracks.
Want your kid to attend a school with kids from around the country and world? Want your kid to be exposed to and gain the skills necessary to interact with people who are not a carbon copy of himself? Do you want your kid to be served an impressive breakfast, lunch, and dinner that is home-cooked, nutritious, and varied and that is all included with the cost of tuition?
Church Farm School checks all the boxes.
“We have only just gotten our toes in the sand as we are new to Church Farm School, but we are so very impressed,” said Mabie.
Since 1918, Church Farm School has helped young men find their passions through a community of role models that foster collective success. No one celebrates each other the way CFS Griffins do.
