Abandoned Mansion Owned By Phillies Owner, Bryn Mawr Resident John Middleton’s Son Covered in Graffiti
An abandoned mansion owned by the Philadelphia Phillies owner and Bryn Mawr resident John Middleton’s son has been blanketed in graffiti, writes Allie Griffin for the New York Post.
Previously, another neglected mansion belonging to John Powers Middleton was taken over by squatters and taggers who have been leaving their artwork all over the house ever since.
The properties are located in the affluent Hollywood Hills neighborhood and have since become an eyesore for their rich and famous neighbors as well as a security concern.
The second home was recently painted but has been retagged with new graffiti shortly after.
The same problem has been recurring for years. An armed man was squatting in the Sunset Plaza mansion before he was arrested in January 2022. In August last year, more squatters took over the property, which resulted in another visit from thepolice.
According to local council member Nithya Raman, Middleton “is in egregious violation of the law” based over how he is handling the two properties.
“This is a public safety issue with serious consequences for both neighbors and the surrounding community,” said Raman. “Irresponsible property owners must take accountability for their property or face action from the city.”
