Peirce College Awarded Grant from PECO to Fund Scholarships for Career Bridge Students

By

Peirce College announced that PECO has awarded the College with a $10,000 grant to fund scholarships for students enrolled in its Career Bridge program.

Launched in the fall of 2021, Career Bridge is an innovative program that acts like a GPS for navigating career change and building skills to enhance employment opportunities. The program’s objective is to bridge the gap between workers and in-demand workforce skills and high priority careers. The program offers a credit-bearing certificate paired with an industry recognized credential in eight high priority career tracks.

These scholarships will help students who are unable to fund the remainder of their program through other means.

The current program offers a stackable, credit-bearing certificate paired with an industry recognized credential in eight in-demand careers such as:

  • Cybersecurity
  • Financial & Business Operations
  • IT User Support
  • IT Network Support
  • Medical Billing
  • Medical Coding
  • Project Management
  • Sales & Client Service

These certificates are stackable, so a student’s achievement brings them part way to an Associate degree. Students can transfer credits from other institutions and also obtain a Prior Learning Assessment, allowing them to gain credit for demonstrated knowledge that aligns with course learning outcomes. Workers can start a new career without starting over.

Through this program, Peirce continues its tradition of serving working adults and employers with innovative, relevant programs that provide students with academic excellence, flexibility, and personalized support. Peirce has enrolled over 100 students in the Career Bridge program since inception.

Applications will open soon.
