With Germany celebrating its 189th Oktoberfest, America has some catching up to do, and there’s no better place to enjoy an Oktoberfest event than in your own backyard, writes Laura Swartz for Philadelphia Magazine.

There are plenty of breweries and restaurants pulling their own events in the city, but so is Chester County. At La Cabra Brewing in Berwyn, get ready for beers, Lederhosen, and German-inspired food on Saturday, Sept. 28.

From 12 PM to 6 PM, La Cabra will keep the party going with a tricycle contest for prizes, yard games, and music. Also expect Bavarian-themed festivities, including traditional German beer, food, and more.
