September Dining Updates in Chester County
September has arrived which means updates and recommendations for restaurants around Chester County. Learn what’s new in town and what’s gone away with these bits and bobs from Ed Williams at Main Line Today.
Head on over to Julie Anne’s Place in Malvern, a 13-year-old breakfast-and-lunch spot named in honor of owner Laura Iezzi’s late sister. Julie Anne’s is known for its cozy, eclectic decor and dishes like pancakes, omelets, and chicken salad.
Also in Malvern, Sweet Zen Bakery is popping off with its baked goods such as bread, pies, cookies, and scones. Owner Amal Kawar recently brought back dark chocolate cupcakes with dark chocolate whipped ganache.
After uncertain times, the former Blue Pear Bistro location in Dilworthtown is set to reopen as The Pear. Under Nick Farrell, who owns Sovana Bistro in Unionville, The Pear will offer small plates and seasonal drinks such as cocktails, beer, wine, and more. Opening dates have not yet been revealed.
West Chester-based Stove & Co. Restaurant Group is working with Jasper’s Backyard to open a new restaurant called Rooster’s in Glenside. They plan to provide pub fare and a raw bar.
Additionally, De La Terre BYOB in Downingtown has closed, despite being an award-winning French restaurant by owners Chef Andrew Hufnagel and manager Kassie Fetzer.
