The High Five-O
Help People’s Light blow out the candles and make a wish for the future.
A milestone birthday calls for a momentous celebration. Join People’s Light throughout its 50th Anniversary Season to celebrate all that the Theatre has accomplished, the work that distinguishes the Theatre today, and the promise of years to come.
In celebration of our 50th year, People’s Light has curated five benefit events spotlighting the cornerstones of the Theatre:
- A Little (People’s) Light Music: (Friday, Oct. 4, 2024) This celebration will begin in the Glen Tent with light bites, drinks, and a toast to kick off a year of fun. Then everyone will parade into the Steinbright to spend an evening with People’s Light favorite and company artist David Lutken, joined by other People’s Light musical friends.
- The Illumination Evening: (Friday, Jan. 24, 2025) Join a lively celebration of community-inspired, award-winning People’s Light initiatives like New Play Frontiers, Flight Nights, Illuminating Figures, and more programs that come to life at the People’s Light campus and around the region. Everyone will gather in the Farmhouse for a night of short plays, a trio of appetizers, and a flight of beverages.
- Growing Up with People’s Light: (Thursday, Apr. 10, 2025) People’s Light’s robust work with youth and arts education will be showcased this evening. This fun, engaging night will bring out your inner kid as we gather to celebrate and support the power of theatre experiences for young people.
- In Good Company: (Friday, May 16, 2025) For one night only, a group of People’s Light company artists will gather to toast 50 years of ensemble work through performances and reminiscence. Enjoy a dessert and champagne reception with the friendly faces of People’s Light — audience and company artists alike.
- The Birthday Bash: (Sunday, Jul. 20, 2025) Put on your party hats and join People’s Light for live music, delicious food, and fun and games as everyone gathers together for a parking lot barbeque. Help the Theatre honor what it does best: celebrate our shared humanity with friends old and new.
