Enjoy Watching Your Favorite Movies Outdoors Throughout Philly This Summer
Fans of free outdoor movies will have plenty of options this summer to enjoy their favorites with lots of family-friendly films all around Philadelphia, writes Laura Swartz for the Philadelphia Magazine.
Libertee Grounds are having free showings of retro movies each Wednesday. They also have their full menu available throughout the movie. You can even enjoy a Shrek and Shrek 2 double feature on July 10.
Sunset Social is organizing outdoor film showings on Wednesday nights and Saturday afternoons. For an added layer of fun, Sunset Social encourages guests to put on costumes for the chance to win a prize.
Schuylkill Banks Movie Nights are being held on Thursdays. Enjoy a great ambiance while watching a movie al fresco in a serene little spot near the Schuylkill River.
In addition to movie screenings, Bartram’s Garden Family Movie Nights also offer nature-based activities with the Pennsylvania Game Commission before each film.
Fairmount Park Conservancy’s Movies in the Park will turn neighborhood parks all around Philly into outdoor movie theaters throughout summer and into fall.
Other outdoor screenings include Spruce Street Harbor Park, PFS Movies on the Block with pre-movie activities, Mount Airy Moonlight Movie, The Oval, and Movies in Clark Park.
