Medtech Company HandsFree Health Merges with California-Based Sibly
HandsFree Health, which markets voice-enabled smart devices for healthcare, has merged with California-based Sibly, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
HandsFree Health was originally based in Wayne but is now functioning as a virtual company. Following the merger, the company will operate as Quarvis Health. Sibly is based in San Mateo. The company offers an AI-enabled and text-based health coaching and navigation platform.
The combined company will be led by HandsFree Health’s management team with CEO Mike Cardillo and president Dan Messina at the helm.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
According to Cardillo, the deal was advocated for by Health Catalyst Capital, an investment firm based in New York City that previously worked with HandsFree Health and was the majority owner of Sibly.
“We felt it was an opportunity to advance our various offerings to both the employer and payer markets,” said Cardillo. “It also produced new sources of capital.”
The combined entity will be able to accelerate the shared vision of the two merged companies to “empower individuals to live their healthiest and safest lives by unifying the continuum of care through digital-first innovations,” he added.
