New Boutique Hotel Opening in Kennett Square Puts Art at the Center of Their Experience
A new boutique hotel called Artelo is coming soon to Kennett Square and works to combine art and a luxury hotel experience, writes Natalie Jason for 6ABC.
The 14-room hotel was a motel years ago and has since been remodeled to reopen soon, featuring bold and colorful art installations in each room. With the Artelo rooms layered in art, the hotel offers an immersive experience.
The art pieces were mostly commissioned from local artists by the Square Roots Collective, a unique business entity that owns the hotel. Each featured mural pays homage to Kennett Square in some way.
Artelo is set to open on July 11 and the public is invited to come and see the artsy rooms, similar to a gallery opening.
The artists will be at The Creamery, also owned by Square Roots Collective, to meet with guests and answer questions about their art pieces.
The Square Roots Collective, also known as SRC, takes the profits from their businesses, such as Artelo and The Creamery, and gives it to nonprofits in the area, uplifting the local community.
