West Chester’s American Helicopter Museum is the Perfect Spot to Learn About Aviation History
The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center, in West Chester, has one of the largest collections of rotorcraft, reports Dave Edwards for 6ABC.
Located at 1220 American Boulevard, the museum features several interactive, fun exhibits for all ages. Even though the collection is based on helicopters, the museum offers so much more than just that, including science, history, and education.
“Helicopter history started in the Delaware Valley, and the museum preserves that legacy while also creating a path forward for the industry,” said Paul Kahan, the museum’s Executive Director.
The museum features three dozen aircrafts, including a 100-year-old helicopter. Both children and adults are welcome to sit in the helicopter. All their programs and collections are family-friendly.
“We pride ourselves on being a place where kids can not only see history, but touch history. That is part of our mission of inspiration,” Kahan said.
