Amazon has confirmed the upcoming opening of an Amazon Fresh store at 1837 Street Road in Bensalem, writes Paul Schwedelson for Philadelphia Business Journal.
Job postings for the new location appeared on Amazon’s website last month, although the company has not yet provided an official opening date.
The store has already secured a liquor license from the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board under Amazon Retail LLC.
This Bensalem location has been dormant since its build-out in 2021, but activity has picked up recently, signaling that the opening may be imminent. The new store will join existing Amazon Fresh locations at 389 Easton Road in Warrington.
While the Bensalem store moves closer to opening, four other proposed Amazon Fresh locations in the area remain uncertain. These include sites in Willow Grove and Langhorne.
Amazon plans to continue its selective expansion of Amazon Fresh, alongside its existing Whole Foods Market stores, based on the success of its new store models.
The upcoming Bensalem store is a key part of this strategy, aiming to provide residents with a fresh and convenient grocery shopping experience.
