Mark Ruffalo will play an FBI agent from Philadelphia in the highly anticipated sequel Task,' part of which will be filmed in Phoenixville.

The HBO sequel to Mare of Easttown is set to begin filming in Phoenixville this week, writes Justin Heinze for Patch.

The filming of Task, featuring Mark Ruffalo, will lead to road closures and fresh excitement for the new show that has gained a cult following.

The show stars Ruffalo as an FBI agent from Philadelphia and will feature the suburban area heavily, as did Mare of Easttown. It has not been confirmed yet whether Ruffalo will use a Delco accent, as Kate Winslet did.

The scheduled filming will lead to the closure of Route 29 in Phoenixville and Schuylkill Township from 6 PM on Wednesday, May 29 until 2 AM on Thursday, May 30. The Main Street will close between Anderson Avenue and Russel Road.

Studio officials noted that police-like vehicles may be spotted during filming.

Plot details for Task have been kept secret, though varying reports have described Ruffalo’s character as a “damaged” agent and some articles have stated his character might run into Kate Winslet’s Mare at some point during the show.

Mare won four Primetime Emmy awards in 2021.
