How Sellersville Borough is Shaping Local Infrastructure Upgrades

In collaboration with Sellersville, the West Rockhill Board of Supervisors has greenlit a $3 million bond to renovate a pool.

In collaboration with Sellersville, the West Rockhill Board of Supervisors has greenlit a $3 million bond referendum to renovate the deteriorating Holiday House pool, writes John Worthington for The Reporter.

Following a marketing study that revealed the 55-year-old pool’s nearing end of lifespan, renovation was chosen as a more feasible option compared to a $7-10 million replacement.

Sellersville has played a pivotal role, not only in sharing the renovation costs, which would translate to a minor real estate tax increase over 30 years, but also in proposing a recreation tax to sustainably fund such community projects.

In parallel, the board is advancing a $3.2 million project with the Telford Borough Authority to connect 90 properties along County Line Road to a public sewer system.

Sellersville has been instrumental in navigating the financial strategies for this initiative, seeking grants to reduce homeowner costs and setting conditions to ease the transition for property owners.

Additionally, the board postponed a decision regarding a tax abatement request from Derstine’s Inc. for a new facility, following deliberations over the tax implications, a discussion influenced by Sellersville’s fiscal prudence.

The ongoing collaborations and decisions will be further discussed at the next meeting scheduled for July 17, emphasizing Sellersville’s significant contributions to these community-enhancing projects.
