Fritz Bakery, a beloved mainstay in Bucks County since 1974, is set to expand its Bensalem location to accommodate growing demand, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.  

Known for its sticky buns, brownies, cookies, and other sweet treats, the bakery has been a staple in the community for nearly 30 years, with locations in Langhorne and near Neshaminy and Oxford Valley Malls. 

Co-owner Kim Bartholomai announced the bakery’s move to a 6,034-square-foot space at the former St. Jude Religious Store, just around the corner from its current Bensalem site. 

 This expansion comes as a response to the cramped conditions in the existing 1,800-square-foot location. 

“The landlord came to us and said, ‘How about you go there,'” Bartholomai explained.  

With the interior already demolished, Fritz Bakery is ready to build anew, much like their daily baking routine. 

Despite the larger space, the bakery will not add seating, focusing instead on introducing a few new items post-move.  

Bartholomai hopes to open the new location by September, ideally before their 50th anniversary on November 7. 

“We’re really nervous about it,” she admitted, “but it’s a big move for us, and we’re excited for the future.”
