During Hot Summer Nights, Visit These Beer Gardens in Philadelphia
Hot weather is the perfect time to enjoy a few drinks with your friends at a beer garden, and Philadelphia has plenty of good ones, writes Leigh Green for PA Eats.
Pentridge Station Pop-up is a true West Philly oasis. It is made by locals, for locals and is open from May through October. This popular beer garden also hosts many fun events, such as watermelon glow parties, drag shows, and comedy nights.
The PHS Pop Up Gardens at South Street and Manayunk are run by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society and a local hospitality group. Together, they turn barren outdoor space into accessible gardens open from March through November. You can enjoy many delicious summer drinks, like Woodermelon and Founders Brewing’s Mortal Bloom hazy IPA.
Independence Beer Garden will make you forget you are in the city with the bounty of its flora. It offers beer on 40 rotating taps from April until October. There are also family-friendly games and some delicious food.
Parks on Tap is a roaming community beer garden that pops up in a different park throughout the city each week from April through September. It offers local craft beer, wine, cocktails, and more, as well as a full food menu.
