Incyte is renovating this former bank building in Wilmington and will transfer 300 of its Chadds Ford employees to the new facility.

Biopharmaceutical company Incyte is relocating 300 jobs from Chadds Ford to Wilmington, Delaware following the purchase of two buildings there, writes Pau Schwedelson for Philadelphia Business Journal.

Incyte has a Chadds Ford location at 100 Mighty Oak Lane. Staffers there will be relocating to two former bank buildings in downtown Wilmington as part of a major expansion.

The purchase of the vacant Bracebridge I and Bracebridge III buildings in downtown Wilmington doubles the company’s Wilmington-area office footprint by another 517,307 square feet.

In addition to moving the Chadds Ford employees there, the new space means more than 500 new positions can be added to the company’s staffing.

The relocated Chadds Ford jobs include skilled, technical and managerial positions with salaries ranging between $90,000 and $200,000.

Incyte was founded in Delaware in 2002 and specializes in treatments in the fields of oncology, inflammation and autoimmunity.

It’s global headquarters for the past decade has been a former Wanamaker’s department store in Alapocas, just outside Wilmington.

“Delaware has been our home for more than 20 years, and we are looking forward to expanding our operations in Wilmington and continuing to grow our company here,” Incyte CEO Hervé Hoppenot said in a statement.
