Havertown Biker Boy a Hit on Social Media but a Worry to Neighbors
An 11-year-old Havertown boy’s passion for biking has brought him online success, but his antics aren’t sitting too well with the neighbors, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.
Alexander Santacroce’s son Alex spends a lot of his time riding bikes, e-bikes and Razor scooters around town.
In the “bike life” world, Alex is a pre-teen bike influencer and a sponsored biker known as “Oneway Lilman.”
Meek Mill has heard of Alex. His YouTube channel has 1.3 million subscribers, with another 696,000 following him on Instagram. He’s been on various local news programs
Louis Vuitton sends him bike helmets. Promoters bring him to Florida and California to show off his bike moves.
But some neighbors haven’t been thrilled with Alex’s wheel-popping, sidewalk-zipping antics
Police have responded to at least six incidents and the Santacroce household has been cited at least twice.
Haverford Police Deputy Chief Joe Hagan said he’s OK with kids riding bikes, as long as they do it safely and not on busy main roads or sidewalks.
“What I’m actually concerned about is having to show up at somebody’s house to tell them that their kid got killed while doing stupid things on a bike,” Hagan says.
