Longwood Gardens’ “Festival of Fountains” summer season offers a perfect prelude to the highly-anticipated “Longwood Reimagined” major expansion, which will debut on Nov. 22, writes Paul B. Redman, president and chief executive officer of Longwood Gardens, for Delaware Online.
The summer season will impress visitors with the opening of the new Conservatory Overlook and the reintroduction of Fireworks & Fountains Shows, complete with imaginative new shows and an enhanced sound system. The season will also bring an enhanced Beer Garden and much more spectacular beauty at every turn.
The Main Fountain Garden came out of its seasonal slumber a few days ago with exhilarating fountain performances. The spectacles can now be experienced in a whole new way from the Conservatory Overlook, which features broad stone tiers for sitting and viewing.
The popular “Festive Friday” theme nights are also coming back this year.
“With vibrant fountain performances, fun family activities and entertainment, live music and new amenities in our Beer Garden, and more, we’ve designed these special evenings to not only connect all ages with all our Gardens have to offer, but also with one another,” wrote Redman.
