A historic 14-acre estate in Ambler with a riding arena, three livable structures, and stunning gardens that have been archived in the Smithsonian recently hit the market for $5.39 million, writes Ryan Mulligan for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

Tunnel Farm, owned by Andrea and Brad Heffler, dates back to 1742. The main house features four bedrooms and seven bathrooms and spans a total of 6,920 square feet. The renovated 200-year-old barn has three bedrooms and two bathrooms, while another outbuilding is a two-bedroom, two-bathroom space.

In addition to the three buildings and an over 17,000-square-foot riding arena, the property is home to two pickleball courts, a pond, an arboretum, and an orchard.

Architects Archer & Buchanan and Casella Builders led an extensive three-year renovation and expansion 15 years ago. A new large kitchen and more glass windows were just some of the changes made at the time.

“It really is a miraculous and special property,” said listing agent Petrina Unger with Kurfiss Sotheby’s International Realty.

She described the property as “a little slice of nature.”
