Pink Boots Society, Iron Hill Brewery Team Up on Beer Aimed at Helping Women in Brewing Industry
The Pink Boots Society and Iron Hill Brewery recently joined forces on a beer release aimed at helping women in the brewing industry, writes Molly Given for Metro Philadelphia.
Pink Boots is a local nonprofit dedicated to advancing the careers of women in the industry. With the release of the Suffragette City Berliner Weisse, locals will get a chance to be a part of the movement as well.
The new brew is a Berliner Weisse with plenty of marionberry puree and just a sprinkle of sage. Blackberry, earthy sweetness, and lemony tartness are some of the tasting notes, along with a “touch of Ziggy Stardust magic.”
Iron Hill, which has several restaurants in Chester County, has also kettle-soured the new brew overnight using natural live cultures from Greek yogurt to provide it with a refreshing finish and a colorful hue.
Suffragette City Berliner Weisse was crafted by talented female brewers at Iron Hill, including Exton’s Avery Hookey.
The beer will be released on April 11 on draft at all Iron Hill locations. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Pink Boots Society.
