April is “National Donate Life Month”, and 57-year-old Bucks County resident and businesswoman Marion Marin is celebrating a successful lung transplant, reports 6 ABC.

Despite leading a healthy lifestyle, running three businesses, and never smoking, Marin faced an unexpected health crisis in 2022 when she began experiencing severe shortness of breath.

However, an urgent ER visit led to a diagnosis of systemic scleroderma, a rare autoimmune disease that significantly affected her lungs and esophagus.

Faced with a rapidly deteriorating condition, Marion became a candidate for a lung transplant, a decision supported by the medical team at the Temple Lung Center, who noted her younger age and declining respiratory function.

Throughout her journey, Marion turned to social media to document her experiences, from the surgery itself to her ongoing recovery at home.

Her story serves as a poignant reminder of the life-saving impact of organ transplants, at a time when an average of 17 people die daily waiting for a transplant.

Now breathing freely without the need for oxygen, Marion joyfully shares that she can now sing in her car.
