Charlie Manuel, who led the Phillies to a World Series in 2008, is investing in Perfect Game, a local youth baseball organization.

Charlie Manuel has been a part of professional baseball dating back to when he signed with the Minnesota Twins as a teenager in 1963.

After more than a decade playing the sport in the MLB and Japan, Manuel returned to the states to begin his coaching and managing career. He reached the mountaintop in 2008, helping the Philadelphia Phillies win the World Series

With his 60-plus years on the scene, Manuel is now set on giving back to the youngest generation of baseball players, investing in youth baseball, writes Matt Breen for The Philadelphia Inquirer

“I just like to watch the kids hit and keep up with it,” Manuel said. “I like to meet them and talk to them. I definitely enjoy it.”

Manuel is one of 20 big leaguers to invest in Perfect Game, a youth baseball and softball company.

His goal is to help make the organization better and keep growing the game.

As a leading youth baseball organization, nearly every top pick in July’s draft will have played for Perfect Game.

Now 80 years old, Manuel noted that being around the game gives him life.

“So I think I want to hang around baseball forever,” he said.
