This exterior wall of the Master's Baker will feature the 50 ft x 17 ft mural done by Erica Dehart.

The Master’s Baker at 319 West Gay St. in West Chester will soon be getting a new mural on its east-facing wall — a project that has been four years in the making, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

Muralist Erica Dehart has received a unanimous vote by the West Chester Borough Council to finally begin painting on an otherwise gray wall with just a business sign for the Master’s Baker. Dehart has been painting murals for about 10 years with a portfolio including over 20 universities and churches.

Using exterior mural latex paints, the mural will be 50 ft x 17 ft and feature a view from the bakery looking out of a large window to the streets of West Chester. There will also be oversized Pennsylvania native flowers and plants spilling from the window.

Master’s Baker owner Chad Weldon is extremely excited for the project to begin, with an expected finish date of the middle of May.

“Murals are a wonderful way to show love to communities and to invoke a sense of importance and belonging through art,” he said, “while capturing a moment that will someday be history and making memories for those who live in this area.”
