Kevin Bacon recently embraced the country elements of Beyonce’s single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em’ in his inspiring Instagram cover.

Kevin Bacon recently posted a cover of Beyonce’s single ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,’ reports Dan DeLuca for The Philadelphia Inquirer. The song has garnered heated debate about whether it can be labeled as a country song.

Bacon grew up spending his weekends at his grandmother’s house in Phoenixville. He was inducted into the Philadelphia Music Alliance Walk of Fame last year. Today, he posts Instagram videos of himself and his wife, Kyra Sedgwick singing to his barnyard animals on his farm in Connecticut.

His latest cover was of Beyonce’s ‘Texas Hold ‘Em,”’ where he and his wife were walking around with their ponies and pigs, while they sang a countrified version of the single. Bacon played the mandolin while Sedgwick added energetic “Hoo’s!”

Some believe Bacon and his wife sided with Beyonce by emphasizing the country elements the song possesses. Despite the post’s show of solidarity, the debate hasn’t slowed, and many have claimed that Bacon covered a “non-country” song.

Regardless of the chatter, Bacon seems sure of his commitment to musical freedom and country living.
