QVC taps actress Busy Philipps to host its new late-night talk show, Busy This Week, which will premiere on QVC+ on May 8.

West Chester-based QVC has tapped actress Busy Philipps to host its new late-night talk show, Busy This Week, writes Emma Dooling for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

The talk show will premiere on the home shopping network’s streaming platform, QVC+, on May 8 at 10 p.m.

The announcement was made two weeks after David Rawlinson, the CEO of QVC’s parent company Qurate Retail Group, said that the company intends to offer its customers more exclusives and celebrity participation as part of its Project Athens turnaround plan.

According to Stacie Tedesco, a vice president at Qurate and interim streaming general manager, the goal is to create better connections between the company’s on-screen personalities, products, and its female shoppers.

We’re reimagining our streaming experience by focusing on highly curated, story-driven shoppable entertainment that not only inspires, but also earns her time,” said Tedesco.

Philipps most recently starred in the comedy Girls5Eva and the 2024 reprise of Mean Girls. She is also the host of the podcast Busy Philipps is Doing Her Best.

She previously worked with QVC in 2022 on the holiday special, Busy for the Holidays.
