4 Philadelphia Museums Make USA TODAY’s 10Best List
USA TODAY has named four Philadelphia museums to its “10Best” list of museums, writes Damon C. Williams for Philly Burbs.
Readers and the voting public had four weeks to choose their favorite museums, and Philadelphia was highly represented among the group.
The Franklin Institute in Center City holds the distinction of being Pennsylvania’s most visited museum. It creates a passion for science and tech for everyone with its many interactive exhibits that explore science plus top-notch experiences and special exhibitions.
Museum of the American Revolution in Old City is one of the newer museums on the list. It’s known for its rich collection of Revolutionary War-era weapons, personal items, letters, diaries, and works of art.
“Immersive galleries, theater experiences, life-sized tableau scenes, and recreated historical environments bring to life the events, people, and ideals of our nation’s founding and engage people in the history and continuing relevance of the American Revolution,” a statement on the Museum of the American Revolution’s website reads.
The Please Touch Museum in Fairmount Park helps change children’s lives as they discover the power of learning through play.
Another entry onto the list of the Wagner Free Institute of Science, which is known for its collection of natural history specimens.
