As spring returns to Chester County on March 19, people along Brandywine Valley are happy to leave the colder days behind, as fun as they might have been, writes Jen Samuel for The Daily Local News.

Throughout winter, residents kept warm with a sense of “wonder.” There has been so much to experience, from snowy day library trips to days spent surrounded by flowers at Longwood Gardens to musicals and so much more.

Head of School Dan Hickey at Upland Country Day School said the school is a great place to be during winter. There, students learn and play in the brisk outdoors and can enjoy ice skating on the on-campus indoor rink.

“We keep warm by staying on the move, indoors and outdoors,” said Hickey. “Cold or inclement weather doesn’t stop us from exploring the outdoors for learning and play.”

Meanwhile, the Kennett Library kept everybody interested and entertained with a nine-part Popcorn & Politics screening of films selected together by Republican and Democrat leaders in the county.

“They selected them together based on themes for discussion they wished to have each night as part of this monthly series,” said Chris Manna, director of the Kennett Library.
