West Chester University Will Welcome New Leader in College of Sciences and Mathematics
Beginning Feb. 1, West Chester University will welcome Jessica OShaughnessy as Dean of the College of the Sciences and Mathematics.
OShaughnessy has spent more than 14 years in higher education, including recently serving as Associate Provost at Stockton University in New Jersey where she managed the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, the Office of Global Engagement, the Office of Assessment, and the Office of Community Engagement and Service Learning. She has served in various leadership roles over her career, including Chair of mathematical sciences and Assistant Dean at Shenandoah University. She is the Chair of the Mathematical Association of America Committee on Assessment.
OShaughnessy holds a Ph.D. in mathematics and master’s degree from the National University of Ireland, Galway, as well as a bachelor’s degree from St. Mary’s College in Maryland. As the College of Sciences and Mathematics’ new Dean, OShaughnessy will formulate and implement university policies, manage the college’s fiscal affairs, lead fundraising efforts, and promote excellence in instruction and research.
