The West Chester Community Campus Committee shared updates with the Borough Council regarding the Borough/WCU relationship.

During a meeting earlier this week, the West Chester Community Campus Committee (WCCCC) shared updates with the Borough Council on the achievements regarding the relationship between the Borough and West Chester University, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

WCU executive director for external relations Dr. Julie Dietrich talked about the work that had already been done, projects currently in progress, and the next steps that are planned to further strengthen the relationship.

“The genuine commitment and care of the WCCCC members has generated intentional action and impact,” she said.

The most recent achievements include the WCCCC Welcome to the Borough event that was held during WCU Welcome Week Fall 2023. The event, which was held in partnership with the Chester County History Center, Greater West Chester Chamber of Commerce, and West Chester BID, emphasized students as good citizens and good neighbors.

In addition to fifteen businesses that took part in the event, local fire, police, and EMS departments also talked with students and got a chance to recruit.

“The borough and university feedback was that it went well, with continued improvement from last and past years based upon comparative data,” said Dietrich.
