Qurate Retail, the parent company of West Chester-based QVC, does not plan to further shrink its Chester County footprint and instead intends to grow its presence if the turnaround continues, writes Jeff Blumenthal for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

While it adopted some modern ways of working, such as giving QVC employees flexibility with remote work if their job function allows it, Qurate does not have as much leeway as some other major employers when it comes to hybrid work schedules.

“The magic that happens in the studios is when a merchandiser touches a blouse and makes sure that the quality is what our customers would expect,” said Qurate CEO David Rawlinson. “So I think we’re going to continue to have a very robust physical presence in that campus in West Chester.”

If the company continues to be more profitable and grow cash, “and eventually we start growing the top line again, there’s opportunity to do even more in that campus,” he added.

Qurate Retail will continue to operate from its global headquarters in West Chester. The 720,000-square-foot Studio Park is home both to its corporate offices and QVC broadcast studios.
