At The Alliance for Health Equity, December is the Month of Giving
Everyone knows that December is a special time of year — a time when family, friends and neighbors gather to celebrate the joys of the holiday season. But do you know that December is also the Month of Giving, whether it’s making a donation to a charitable cause or volunteering your time to help others in need?
Past, Present & Future
This December, The Alliance for Health Equity invites you to learn more about their impact in the Greater Coatesville area by viewing the Community Reports. If you’re already a supporter, they hope you’ll be proud of all that has been accomplished. If you’re new to the work, they hope you’ll be inspired to give and get involved so that everyone can build on our success to have an even greater impact in the future. It would be impossible for us to fulfill the mission and vision of a thriving, inclusive, and healthy community for all without the hundreds of donors and volunteers who give their time, talent, and treasure.Â
In the Greater Coatesville area, with some of Chester County’s poorest neighborhoods, children, seniors, adults, and youth lack the quality healthcare, mental health, behavioral health, and social support services that they need. Donations help with supporting general operating expenses, building a stronger nonprofit sector, and implementing strategic initiatives that help with emergent and long-term community challenges. Your generosity will make a real difference.Â
Impact Areas
The Alliance for Health Equity pursues their mission through grant-making, providing scholarships, building partnerships, and being a catalyst to spark new initiatives where they are needed the most. Their grants focus on improving the conditions under which people in underserved communities can be healthy and thrive. It reflects trust-based philanthropy approaches and investments in neighborhoods that have been left behind economically in the Greater Coatesville area.Â
The integration of our impact areas allows The Alliance for Health Equity to put the community on the path of resiliency and transformation. These impact areas include:
- Helping People Live Healthy & Well through The Greater Coatesville Hospital Closure Group, The Coatesville Homelessness and Unemployment Collective, The Brandywine Center, and The Wellbeing Fund
- Creating Healthy Spaces & Places through The Greening Coatesville Initiative and Public Safety Training
- Leading Community-Driven Change through The Coatesville Black Media Renaissance Project, The Community Voice Initiative and Let’s Talk Series, The Collaborative Innovation Fund, and The Nonprofit Justice and Equity Institute
