Maria Stauffer, principal at Rainbow Elementary School in the Coatesville Area School District, is now leading the school she attended as a child, according to a staff report from The Daily Local News

Her connection with the school and the community is evident in everything she does, from greeting students to visiting classrooms throughout the day.

Stauffer still remembers her first day of kindergarten.

“There were lots of tears, and they had to pry me away from my mother’s leg,” Stauffer recalled. “But once I got inside, I never looked back.”

Her love for the school and its community served her well when she returned to be the School Principal who oversees approximately 700 students a few years ago. Since then, she has successfully led the school and its teachers, staff, students, and parents through the challenging pandemic years.

Stauffer is quick to credit her staff for their ability to meet kids where they are as well as for being willing to go above and beyond to support each student to ensure their success.
