On Sunday, Dec.  3, the Immaculata Symphony will hold its annual Christmas concert, “The Holly and the Ivory,” in Alumnae Hall at 3 PM. The concert is open to the public. The Immaculata Symphony is a university-community organization, with a long and outstanding tradition that goes back to the university’s founding in 1920.

Directed by Joseph Gehring, music director, this fun concert features festive works for piano and orchestra and showcases several pianists from the university performing holiday works along with the orchestra. Holiday favorites, complete with an audience sing-along, kick start the Christmas season.

Gehring serves as chair of the Immaculata University Music Department and director of ensembles. He was appointed music director of the Immaculata Symphony in 2011. He is also the conductor of the West Chester Band and Chesco Pops Orchestra and is a frequent guest conductor of various honor/festival bands and orchestras throughout Pennsylvania and Delaware.

Tickets are $10 (children under 12 are free) and available for sale on the day of the event and online at here.
