West Chester will celebrate Small Business Saturday this weekend with numerous shops and restaurants participating.

Small Business Saturday in West Chester is an important day for independently owned local businesses, writes Holly Herman for the Patch.

It is the kickoff to “shop small” events to emphasize the power that dollars spent in local communities truly have.

More than 50 retail stores and 60 restaurants will be participating with their own special offers, gifts, and treats. And as a bonus, visitors will be able to enjoy free parking from Friday through Sunday.

“Our small businesses are the backbone of the West Chester community,” said John O’Brien, executive director of the West Chester Business Improvement District. “Whether you are looking for clothing, jewelry, vinyl records, or gift cards West Chester has you covered. Remember Buy Local, or say Bye-Bye to Local.”

Some of the many special offerings that will be available over the weekend include 15 percent off all purchases at All the Dogs, 35 percent off all purchases at Blink clothing store, in-store discounts on apparel and footwear at Bryn Mawr Running Company, and a $25 bonus card for all who buy a $75 gift card at Iron Hill Brewery.
