Downingtown West posted a narrow 17-14 win over Downingtown East in a Pennsylvania high school football matchup on Nov. 17.

Downingtown East started on steady ground by forging a 7-3 lead over Downingtown West at the end of the first quarter.

The Whippets’ offense moved in front for a 10-7 lead over the Cougars at the intermission.

Downingtown East took the lead 14-10 to start the fourth quarter.

The final quarter was decisive for the Whippets, as they climbed out of a hole with a 17-14 scoring margin.

In recent action on Nov. 3, Downingtown East faced off against Wissahickon and Downingtown West took on Council Rock South on Nov. 4 at Downingtown West.
