Shravan Rajagopal, a 17-year-old senior at East High School in West Chester, is one of the creators of a new free mobile app, MyCrohnicles, which helps people with Crohn’s Disease or Colitis keep track of symptoms and lifestyles and then share them with their physicians, according to a staff report from TAPinto.
Rajagopal created the app with his cousins, 17-year-old Udhirna Krishnamurthy and her 13-year-old brother, Svadrut.
According to the creators, the aim of the app is to help the estimated 3.1 million Americans who have Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis to better manage both their diets and lifestyles.
The teens were inspired by their own family members to create the app.
“We want to help people; people like our family members afflicted with Crohn’s and colitis,” said Rajagopal.
He also said that he was diagnosed with Crohn’s disease when he was seven.
The app lets users enter in all their meals, how often they work out, and their bowel movements. It also answers questions about how their body reacts to different foods and how they feel after meals, exercise, or any other daily activities.
