Attesting to Its Popularity, Malvern’s Bounce Pickleball Continues to Add Rapily Members
As the popularity of pickleball continues to grow so does the number of members at Bounce Pickleball in Malvern, a recently opened indoor pickleball center, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The pickleball center was created at what was previously the 36,000-square-foot Great Valley Racquet Club run by business partners Talen Singer and Bill Davis. Since it officially opened its doors in late June, Bounce Pickleball has added around 1,500 members. About 300 of them are novices who want to learn how to play.
“It’s what we were hoping for, but you never believe it will happen until it comes through,” said Braden Keith, Bounce Pickleball’s marketing and operations manager. “We opened this because we knew the demand is there. Every week we get about 50 new members and hear from 10 to 20 who want lessons.”
The club will most likely have to cap its membership sometime in the future somewhere between 2,000 and 2,500 members to ensure that everybody who joined has access to court time.
The club has also recently changed its programming and added leagues to its schedules. They “filled up instantly,” said Keith.
