Child Abuse Investigations Manager I

This position will oversee the work of Child Abuse Investigations Supervisors, Child Abuse Investigations Casework Specialists, or support staff, balance the use of CPS statutory authority with the need to determine the least invasive intervention to protect the child and enhance family functioning, and ensure appropriate application of the CPSL: risk assessment procedures, investigatory time frames, and accurate documentation, among others. Other duties include reviewing professional reports and other data and attending and representing the department at court hearings.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Social Work, five years of experience, thorough knowledge of the CPSL, and in-depth knowledge of the Child Protective Services Law. Candidates should have six years of supervisory experience, six years of child welfare experience, Department of Public Welfare Supervisory Certification, and knowledge of child welfare regulations and related laws.

Deputy Sheriff I

This position will protect the judge and courtroom personnel during criminal trials, maintain custody and control of prisoners, and process background checks for firearm permits. Other duties include completing prisoner extraditions and transports, completing detailed and accurate reports or reportable incidents, and performing other duties, tasks and special projects, as required.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED and their Act 120 Police Academy training certification not more than five years prior to the employment date, or five years of law enforcement experience. Candidates should maintain firearms qualification and CPR and EMS provider-level certifications. Candidates should have knowledge of criminal and civil law and training in defensive and security tactics.

Safety & Security Operator

This position is responsible for patrolling designated county facilities to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, illegal entry, and to protect the occupants of the facility. Other duties include being responsible for the safety and security of county facilities, and tour the assigned facility to identify any irregularities, observe protection and fire control equipment, uphold order, and enforce regulations for the facility in regards to the premises, personnel, and visitors. Additionally, this position will screen and confiscate any unauthorized items.

The ideal candidate must have a high school diploma or GED, with a background in corrections or law enforcement preferred. Candidates should have one year or more of job-related experience and customer service experience, as well as be certified in First Aid and CPR. Candidate should have the ability to properly use an X-ray scanner and be able to follow protocol. Additionally, candidates should have strong people skills and be detail-oriented.
