Candice Caruso, Senior Vice President and Chief Consumer Lending Officer at WSFS Bank, has been named one of the Philadelphia Business Journal’s 2023 Women of Influence.

Each year, the publication honors a group of women who are leaving a mark on Greater Philadelphia in their own unique ways.

Caruso has been a transformative figure in the financial sector. She joined WSFS Bank five years ago, amidst a career spanning various roles in retirement services, business funding, and fintech. Under her leadership, the bank has risen to prominence as the top small business bank in the region and ranks among the top 50 nationwide.

When the COVID-19 pandemic struck and small businesses were in dire need of financial support, Caruso led a team of 200 associates who facilitated nearly $1 billion in Paycheck Protection Program loans. This monumental effort helped more than 5,000 customers and safeguarded almost 100,000 jobs in the region.

Caruso, a Montgomery County native who earned her bachelor’s degree from Philadelphia University (now Thomas Jefferson University), serves on the WSFS CARES Foundation board and leads a special giving initiative that is tied to supporting and developing future leaders in Greater Philadelphia and Delaware.

“This is something I care deeply about as I believe that with the right tools and mentors, we can help create an environment that supports learning, leadership, and strength within our communities,” she said.
