Honey Brook-based R-V Industries, a leading provider of industrial engineering and manufacturing solutions, has acquired R.W. Hartnett, an experienced source for pharmaceutical, nutraceutical, and confectionary printing, laser writing/drilling, and vision inspection equipment.

“The Hartnett acquisition expands our products and services in the food and pharmaceutical industries,” said Kirk Putt, president and CEO of R-V. “Anne and Keith Boyce have done a great job developing the Hartnett product line and servicing their clients worldwide. Together, with our other relevant divisions, we will scale and recognize efficiencies to provide the best industrial equipment and services to our clients.”

Both R-V and Hartnett have long family connections. R-V is managed by the third generation of the Putt family, and the Boyce family — Anne, Keith, Sean, and Kyle — represent the third and fourth generations of Hartnett leadership. They will continue managing the operation and team of 32 employees out of Hartnett’s Philadelphia facility. Hartnett will continue to operate under the R.W. Hartnett name, as a division of R-V Industries, ensuring a smooth transition for employees and clients.

“We’re excited to join R-V Industries,” said Anne, president of Hartnett, which was founded in 1880 on “Printers Row” in Philadelphia to service printing machines. “This presented an opportunity to continue my family’s legacy by partnering with a local company to leverage our strengths and provide even greater value to our customers.”

The Hartnett acquisition continues R-V’s history of strategic growth, following its recent acquisitions of Ackley Machine Corporation, MBC Aerosol, Genesis Packaging Technologies, AccuDraft, and Beta Star Life Science Equipment.

“Since our inception 49 years ago, industry diversity has been a key element of our business model,” said Putt. “For our customers, employees, and suppliers, it delivers value in multiple ways: ensuring stability when economic downturns impact specific industries, creating value by enhancing efficiencies and scale, and providing growth paths and collaboration opportunities for our 340 employees.”

The R.W. Hartnett acquisition adds another Pennsylvania manufacturing location to R-V’s existing Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Illinois facilities.
